Portaro: Spare Parts
Last summer, after the visit of my forum colleagues, from Iasi, I had a slight accident with my Portaro due to the bursting of a tire.
Minor problems in cars with 30 years old, become major complications. Since September the 4x4 is in a service station to repair some parts.

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Thanks for your availability, Alex, but I don’t want to bother you...
I've already bought used spare parts from another old Portaro, but I must say it was very difficult to find them.
In Portugal, the production of Portaro practically ceased in 1985.
I just need your help to tell me if the Portaro spare parts are similar to those of Aro 240/244.
Your answer is important because you can help to keep the Portuguese Aro alive.
Let's start with the front differentials.
(PS: I like your avatar. It's the most original in the forum. Keep it)

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
I'm not an expert, it does look similar. the connection part is confusing, but Im sure other people are more knowledgeable than me here.
what I can do is to take similar pictures with a front dif from a 320 with 33/8 from 1993.
Ill try this tomorrow.

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
It is the same, al Aro 24 models have the same front diff. case, only the gear ratio is different. I wanted to ask you what material is the diff. case... is it aluminium or cast iron? because I saw it painted black, and all the front diffs that I saw were unpainted aluminium alloy.

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Alex, thanks for your information and work...
Here are the pictures from the inside of the rear differential.
Tudop, the differential is cast iron, not aluminum, each of which weighs over 30 kg.
I kept the book that you offered me last year about the Aro 24 series in a safe place...
Max, I will see the reductor as you said.
Amazing technical team we have here!!!

Hi Ramiro, the rear dif looks identical to the romanian one.
Do u need pics as well for this one?
I do have the rear dif , to match the front dif.

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Hi, Alex
Thanks for the pics. The differentials have similarities with those of Portaro.
My purpose is to make a guide of spare parts for Portaro, because some of them are identical to those manufactured for the Aro 24 series.
This topic may be important for those who are looking for spare parts, because in Portugal practically they don't exist.
Anyway, when I need some piece I'll tell you...

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
so, ramiro...
whats wrong with this one now?
they all look the same, hence i fear u need to write down some dimensions if u look for compatibility with 24X.
the fluid tank, exits for lines and very top of the cilinder look different.(like old)
id say u need to give sizing of it, including mounting area. Is it u have vaacum pump as well, or is it a simple, non assisted sistem?
have a look at engine bay on the forum pics, u might see the brake pump....

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Ok, Alex
I'll see the size of the pump as soon as i can.
But it’s not a vacuum pump, it works with a simple system not assisted.
I'll find if it is compatible with the main brake pump system of Aro 24, searching for "pompa de frana" in "piese de schimb" topic...
Best regards
