The production of ARO M461 C was stopped in 1975, when already the ARO 24 series, more modern and better performing, was being produced.
Considering that over half of the production was for exportation market, and the majority of vehicles in Romania being owned by the State, ARO M461 C and its previous versions are today rare in Romania.
Fortunately, several hundred vehicles in perfect condition were auctioned off to private owners after 2000, and the legend lives...

The ARO 24 Series is not better performing than M461C, especially not in offroad conditions where the live axles of the M amount for a huge difference. Also, don't forget M473.

Called beast of burden, this magnificent announcement about the M461 stands out as its main features the powerful and very well protected engine, and the robustness of the chassis to allow it to enter in the water without fear, and move forward as a small mechanical elephant...
