I have a problem with an engine. There is a crack, because disassemblies of the valve in the second cylinder. It was in 1992-1993 years (running was 18000km . )
We restored engine, but the problem still here. Then we have run about 100.000 km. And now engine is dead.

I need a new engine block (1397cc), or engine(motor) in a full complete (armory, kitting) which is better, or secondhand engine is in a full complete (armory, kitting) (without breakages with run up to 40000-60000km).

And I have any questions.
1.How this engines are reliable?
2.How are running up to repair.
3.Where and how can I order details or the engine. How much does it cost?

you have to look after Dacia engine

Hi, Tarzy, thanks for the information. It is the good price, if the engine is in good condition.
And I have problrem, brcause I live in Russia, my city is Novosibirsk. Its Siberia (central part of Russia).
And how can I order details or the engine. Could someone tell me phone, address of diller or shop.

I know where Siberia is  ;D

distance is your big problem, the shipping from Romania to Siberia will cost more that the engine

Dacia was exported in Russian Federation until early nineteen, maybe you will find a car in your country and get the engine,
the Dacia engine was license from Renault 12, maybe you'll find this kind of car in order to replace the engine

And there are others Renault engines that would fit in your car, only they are older. I think the engines from Renault Fuego 1,8L, and others that will fit with the gearbox, but I'm not sure. You should search the net for similar engines that fit in Renault 12.

Actually, the original Renault 12 engine was 1298cc   ( Bore x Stroke [mm] = d73 x h77).    It was modified in Romania at 1397cc, to get a little more power, only the diameter of cyl. was enlarged.

LE: the engine from Renault 18 its also good:

the Renault 9 in 1983, launching the version GTL with 1400 cc and modest 60bhp. This model's engine capacity was reduced to 1300 cc and became the entry model when the better equipped GTS (1400 cc) was launched in 1985. \:/
