Clutch shaft from Aro Ranger 10.4. Year 1993.

Post by Yelitza »

Hello friends from Forum Aro Club Romania,

I´m writing from Venezuela to ask for help. I have an ARO Ranger from 1993 and I´m looking for the clutch shaft. Mine got broken and I found an used one that is not so good. I´m not really sure about the name of the piece in English or any other language than Spanish, but I attached a picture.

In my country, it is not possible to find the shaft new , can you help me to find it and get it by mail? PLEASE....

My car is an ARO 10.4, it has a Renault 12 engine 1.600 and its case or transmission is the original one for the engine, but it doesn´t have the 4x4. I bought it like this...

This is my situation, by now the mechanic is installing the used piece I found, so I can use the car, but we´re not sure about how long it will work or if it will work at all.

If any of you knows how I could get this piece, would be a great help for me....I really like this car and I don´t want to sell it by pieces or change its engine and case...

Sincerely yours,

Yelitza.

Hello,

Yes, my gearbox is from Romania. The car is still as it came from your country. Engine, gearbox, transmission and so on.

I´m sending a picture of it.

Thank you,

Yelitza

Hello Ardeleanu,

I really hope to get some help from you and your friends from the forum.
Yesterday I got the car out of the service with the old shaft I founded here and, for my sorrow, it just run around 10 km and gone...the shaft lost connection.... :-[

I´ll keep checking the forum.

Multumesc.

Hello Ardeleanu,

First of all, sorry for not answering before, I´ve been out of internet.

Yes, I´m still looking for the shaft, but....not only for it.

I found a mechanical who told me to weld the shaft to the sprocket from the gearbox in order to solve the problem. After that the shaft will be fix on the gearbox and I don´t know how good or bad that could be for the gearbox....this mechanical says that it will be OK, his own car is like this and it works well.

For that, we disarmed the gearbox to take out the sprocket and we notice that also this piece is worn out.

I already sent the 2 pieces to be weld and will see how it goes. This is the only solution for me right now.

I´m not really sure if the piece from Razvy is the same. I think it is a little bit different, but if it´s possible to find also the sprocket, I think it will be done.

I really appreciate all you have been doing to help me and I´m very serious...I really appreciate it. THANK YOU.

I´m sending you pictures.

Best regards

Yelitza

Hello Razvy,

That was what I was noticing, the ring. OK. Then it will work. Thank you very much.

Let me post a new message with the welded pieces.

Hello,

In this message I´m sending you the pictures from the shaft fixed into the sprocket.

I don´t have any experience with this kind of hand work, so I don´t know if it is well done or not. I just expect it to be good enough.

I don´t know how good is this invention for the gearbox or the engine, and definitely I prefer to use the shaft and the sprocket how it comes from fabric, but by now this is the only thing I can do here.

So please, let me know if it is possible to find the sprocket and the little ring that keeps the shaft in its place.

I feel shame to ask you for this too, but in my possition I don´t have any other option than annoying nice people like you.

Once more

THANK YOU.
Yours,

Yelitza :)
