Dacia 1300
Dacia 1300
The first Dacia 1300 was built in August 1969, and was exhibited at Eren, Bucharest, and at the Auto Show in Paris, as Renault 12.
This type was, at the beginning, produced with parts imported from France, and made an impressive sucess in Romania, because the waiting lists were always lengthy.
The type was a berline with 4 doors, 5 places, front traction, frontal engine, 1289 cc, 144 Km/h, and consumption 9,4 L.
There was 3 variants of Dacia 1300:
1300 Standard
1300 L( Lux)
1301 (Lux Super)
This one, had a heated rear screen, radio, windscreen mirrors, a more luxurious trim, and was reserved for the communist party nomenklatura.

Here's another beautiful picture of a 1300 Dacia in 1979, in the desert of Sahara, during the Budapeste - Bamako rally, on route from Merzouga to Zagora - Morocco.

Dacia Estafette D6
In Colibasi, between 1975 and 1978, was also produced the magnificent Dacia Estafette D6, similar to the Renault Estaffete, but in very limited numbers, given the competition of the T.V. Van, made in Bucharest.

Re: Dacia 1300
In the early eighties, the Renault 20 was also assembled as the Dacia 2000. Because of the exclusivity of this model, numbers were very limited. The 2000 was only available in dark blue or black, and was reserverd for the nomenklatura.

At the Bucarest Show, Eren, in 1979, the restyled 1310 models were presented.
These had quad lamps at the front, larger lamps at the rear, reprofiled bumpers, and a new interior.
Those types were built in the following versions: Standard, MS, MLS, S, TL and TX.

Re: Dacia 1300
In late 1979, the 1310 finally hit the Romanian market.
In the U.K, where it was known as the Dacia Denem, the top of the range model included such luxuries as a five-speed gearbox, alloy wheels and electric windows. The advertising slogan used for the car was "The very acceptable Dacia Denem".
Romanian Embassy, in South Kensington, kept a fleet running until the 90s.

Re: Dacia 1300
During 1983, and in the following years, the 1310 type had been restyled again.
Also 1.397 C.C (Dacia 1410), and 1.185 C.C (Dacia 1210) engines, and the five speeds gearbox were introduced.
Those had the following equipment levels: TLE, TX, TS, TLX, GT and GTL.
After U.K., type 1310 was exported to South America, and Canada.
Dacia 1310 continues to be manufactured today, berline (types TL, TLX, S, L, R and CR) with new head-lights, break with new stop-lights (Types CL, L, FT) and a pick-up (type 1304).

Re: Dacia 1300
In 1979, at Eren show, the Dacia Sport Brasovia was presented. This prototype of a sports coupé was based on the 1310 and developed at a service station in Brasov.
From this popular prototype, the new Dacia Sport emergerd. This one was built in two types. The first emerged from the 1310 type with shorter doors, and the second from the 1410 type with longer doors.
Dacia Sport was based on the berline type, and had a restyled coupe bodywork with two doors. Its back side was 200 mm shorter than at the basic model. The engine was the same as in a Dacia 1410 (1,4 L.). Production stopped after 1989.
