Well, we have been back for a while now, and I've posted pictures with our meeting here http://www.aro4x4.net/smf/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4186 Sorry, I should have sent you a pm.
Some random pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/ama270887/EuropaAfrica2009#

And btw, your Portaro doesn't require that much work to be worthy for a museum :)>-

Nice. I liked the photo of the 3 musketeers beside the old brave horse... 8)
By the way, in portuguese "Romeiro" is that who following a pilgrimage or procession... ;D
I also liked the morocco's photos. After all, your trip reminded me the Budapest-Bamako rally.

Backing to the portaro 240 D, who's in Caramulo Museum, the jeep was completely dismantled, piece by piece, down to the smallest detail...

After a long and meticulous restoration, the jeep seems to just come out of the assembly line, in 1980... ::)

After rebuilding the body, it's time to choose the original fittings according the Portaro catalog: Banks (tissue covers are unique from Celta model); Rims and Color (colors no. 6 and 9 were only produced for the Celta model too). 8)

Hi, Amb 13!!

The owner of this portaro 240 is João Faria, a friend of mine, whose restoration work I followed closely.
My Portaro is a 260 Celta, whose picture you can see in the topic "Aro Meeting in Romania".
I liked the video. Is this a tiger in the jungle ? ::)
How is your fantastic Dacia 1100 ?

Welcome Ines ;)

This is the magnificent Portaro Campina 320 of my friend Miguel Ângelo, who was exposed in the Museum of the Transports and Communications, in Porto, until October 2009.
I put a picture of the model in the museum, on the previous page.
Miguel did a complete restoration of the wooden box, and the Van runs like a clock and is very well preserved because it is from 1979.
Soon i'll see him! 8)
