It's an idea, Adielec.
The only difference between the original rear rubber blade and a possible copy is the relief. The original has a relief on drawings and letters...

Re: Portaro: Models and Technical Data
Hi, Axxel
In fact, this is one of the most rare and impressive photos of Portaro, and it was taken in 1977, during an exhibition in Portugal.
You must have eagle eyes, because few people realize that the car in 2nd place is a Tagus.
The Tagus ( in english it means the name of the river Tejo, in Lisbon) was assembled, approved and marketed by the portuguese company SEMAL (Garagem Victória), under the license of Romanian TV (Tudor Vladimirescu) Van, at the same time that the Portaro was built, also in Tramagal (1976).
There was 2 versions: one with wooden box, and the other Van, as you can see in the picture.
The Tagus is quite rare.
Look at the pictures: Tagus and Romanian TV Van are very similar!!!...
Our friend Werner is a big fan of Tagus, and he has a TV Van.

Re: Portaro: Models and Technical Data
Sorry guys, but the photos of the portuguese TV Van - Tagus - are really rare.
Since 2007, I'm registered in the forum "Autohojeonline", and the only picture that we can find there, is posted above.
There's another picture in the forum "Motor Clássico", but my license to go there is expired.
However, here's another pic of 2 Portaros in the Geneva road-show, at 1978 (rodas de viriato).
This is a rare image, because all the photos of this exhibition are black and white.
We can read a curious detail, in the legend: Portaro was manufactured in collaboration with AUTO DACIA.
This information is almost unknown, but it’s understandable, because the electrical system of Portaro is similar to Dacia 1300.

Re: Portaro: Models and Technical Data
Ramiro, AUTO DACIA was the "romanian foreign trade company" that are exported all the romanian cars all over the world (Dacia, Aro, Oltcit). This is only a trade company, not a producer. Dacia was produced at UAP (Uzina de Autoturisme Pitesti) - IAP later ( Intreprinderea de Autoturisme Pitesti) and after 1990 Automobile Dacia S.A.Ramiro Cavaleiro wrote: We can read a curious detail, in the legend: Portaro was manufactured in collaboration with AUTO DACIA.

The Dacia factory is located in Mioveni (Colibasi- older) at 17km north from Pitesti, in time that AUTO DACIA it was located in the city of Pitesti. Now, the old trade company is named AUTO DACIA S.A. and it still exist in the spare parts and accesories trading. http://www.listafirme.ro/sc/128736_auto_dacia_sa.htm
The similarity of the electrical system was a coincidence and maybe a cost effectiveness policy.

Thanks for your detailed information, George!
It is now clear to us the kind of partnership between Auto Dacia and Portaro.

The living legend
Portaro in Paris-Dakar
In 1983, after the victory in Paris-Agadir rally, the portuguese SEMAL (Garagem Vitoria) decided to participate in Paris-Dakar rally with 5 vehicles; 2 jeeps Portaro for racing, and 3 vans Campina for technical assistance.
The jeeps were amended to strengthen the chassis and decrease weight on the body with polyester. The Volvo engine, 4 cylinders and 150 hp, was specially prepared by the Swedes.
Portaro achieved the 10th place, the best obtained til now by a Portuguese brand.
Today, 28 years after that mythical competition, the vehicle remains in Portugal, after getting success in many races
